NDA Awards Program

Join NDA today — and welcome to our community.

NDA hosts a robust awards program for Recognized shows and Schooling shows. Full details of the awards program are available in our Handbook, located in the "Forms & Documents Tab"

Awards Program "Quick Notes"

  1. Rider must contribute to NDA in one of the following ways:
       •  Volunteer 6 hours of service at NDA-recognized or NDA-sponsored event (remember, volunteering on the board or a committee counts!)
       •  Raise $60.00 in sponsorship money
       •  Some combination of above, where 1 volunteer hour = $10 of sponsorship money, and total value must equal $60
    (It is the rider's responsibility to submit volunteer hours and/or sponsorship money to NDA prior to Oct 5; use the report form found on the Forms & Documents page)
  2. Rider must be an NDA member for the current competition year at the time scores are earned
  3. An awards nomination form must have been submitted for a horse and rider combination for the current competition year at the time scores are earned.
  4. Horse must be owned or leased by a current NDA member to qualify for certain awards (see handbook for details)

TYPES OF AWARDS
  1. Horse Awards
    Ribbons through fourth place at every level & division; Horse of the Year trophy for the highest adj. median score at all levels (except Intro)
  2. Rider Awards
    Ribbons through fourth place at every level & division
  3. Schooling Show Medal Series
    Gold, silver, and bronze medals for NDA schooling shows only 
  4. Rider Test Medal Series
    Gold, silver and bronze medals for Training, First and Second Level rider tests only
  5. Freestyle Awards
    Ribbons for champion and reserve;  at every level; Freestyle Horse of the Year trophy for the highest adh. median freestyle score at all levels
  6. Rider Rosettes
    Blue for 3 scores of 65% or more at a level, red for 3 scores of 60% or more at a level, white for 3 scores of 55% or more at a level
  7. NDA Qualified Riding Member Certificate
    Earned the first time rider earns a score of 55% at Training or First Level
  8. Special Awards
    Sedlacek-Rose Swedish Warmbloods Award, Peter Rose Memorial Trophy, David Funk Memorial Award, The President’s Award, David Funk Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award, FEI Jr/YR Award, FEI Young Horse Award, NDA High Score of the Year Award, Western High Point Award

SCORES YOU NEED TO EARN:
  1. For Intro–Fourth Level: a minimum of 4 scores at a given level; for FEI and Prix Caprilli: a minimum of 2 scores at a given level
    (the above is for all awards except Freestyle Awards, Rider Rosettes and Qualified Riding Member Certificates)
  2. Median score must be 55% or higher, with at least 1 score of 55% or higher from the highest test of the level
  3. Scores must be from two different judges, and two different NDA-recognized competitions (see handbook for details)
  4. Scores must be earned between between Oct 1 of the previous year and Sep 30 of the current year

SUBMITTING SCORES

  1. Competitors must submit ALL SCORES they have earned in a competition year
  2. Scores must be submitted by Oct 5
  3. Use the score report form found on the Forms & Documents page
